Stephen Weir, the Managing Director of UK based translation company - Stealth Translations Ltd., has written asking if our UK website visitors might be able to help with a project. His company is in a collaboration to develop voice recognition software with a number of applications including accessibility platforms for people with disabilities.
They are currently looking to collect over 2,000 voice samples from around the
UK for a total of 8 minutes in length. These would be collected by way of a scripted phone call to an answering machine. They have just over 3 weeks left to collect audio data.
I understand that volunteers who take part will receive £8 for each successfully completed recording.
