We received the following from Rose Palmer of the Anna Freud Centre....
Dear ADDers
I work at the Anna Freud Centre, a children's mental health charity, and we are producing a series of 20 minute podcasts focusing on child and family mental health. We're working with BBC Radio 4 presenter Claudia Hammond
(http://www.claudiahammond.com/) and in each podcast she discusses an important issue in mental health with an expert and a young person or parent.
We are currently planning an episode on ADHD and are looking for a young person with ADHD or a parent whose son or daughter has ADHD to take part in the podcast. The episode will explore how common it is, what the best treatments are, what it's like to have ADHD and advice for young people with ADHD and their parents. The young person/parent will share their experiences in a discussion with Claudia and Dr Jeanette Phillips, who is an expert in this area and whose daughter has ADHD.
Would you be willing to share this opportunity with members of your charity or anyone you think might be interested? We have recorded other episodes on self-harm, online sexual material and anxiety in families and have found that the young people and parents taking part have found it an enjoyable experience!
The podcasts will be launched in the next month or so and released every 4-6 weeks, on our website and also on iTunes. It's audio-only and we can use a different name if there are concerns about anonymity.
The recording of the podcast will take place on the morning of 12th April at a recording studio in central London. We are happy to offer support and guidance ahead of the discussion and can reimburse travel expenses.
Best wishes
Rose Palmer
