The people upstairs have silent rules
They always cushion the swinging doors
Their radio is silent all the time
They never have big conducted tours
The children are never hyperactive
Their living room is like a library full of soft pillows
The kitchen pans are never bashed around
The people upstairs are always kind and generous
They never fight or get drunk
I never have to listen to their door creak
And I never listen to their taps squeak
All I can say about the people upstairs is they're so quiet
So quiet I'd never know they were there.
